It’s a Christening Times Four! | Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of capturing the Christening of the V family siblings (all 4 of them :)) at St Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, NC.  The church is huge and gorgeous with so much yummy natural light and there were so many tender moments shared between this beautiful family.  I had a wonderful time photographing this event; it was truly special.  Below are just a few of my favorites…

Spring Family Photos| Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

Since relocating to the Charlotte, NC area I have taken my time to get acclimated and have thoroughly enjoyed my new surroundings and making new friends while putting my busy, though wonderful, photography business on hiatus.  I have had time to focus on myself, being a wife and mommy, and I have loved every minute.  Almost 8 months later I am now at a place where I am READY to delve back into photography and I really have missed it!  I can’t deny it… photographing families is still simply part of what makes me ME.  I have relocated my business before and getting up and running in a new area is never easy and always a little scary!  So with that said I am offering my first official promotion since relocating to Huntersville, NC and what better time to do this than SPRING!  I LOVE spring for many reasons but it’s really such a great time for family photos.  It’s not too hot, not at all cold and flowers are in bloom.  I do have very limited availability for this special promotion as it is very discounted from my regular pricing.  If you’re interested contact me ASAP for further information!  I look forward to it!

Do you wanna build a snowman? | Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

It was hard to believe on this gorgeous sunny 75 degree day that less than a week ago the entire Charlotte, NC area was blanketed in snow… but it sure was and I have the photos to prove it!  My little girl LOVED it… sledding, jumping in it, building snowmen, the whole 9 yards.  My little boy… not so much.  He went tubing on the first day (in one of our pool rafts, ha!) for a few minutes with his dad and was done.  I believe he said when asked to go back out and play in it the next day, “It’s too cold and wet out there for me!”  LOL!  I have to agree with him.  It was great for a couple of days and I love the photos I got and the fun we had but I certainly welcomed it melting with the return of the sun, warmth and our normal routines. :)

Happy birthday to you, sweet girl! | Huntersville, NC Child Photographer

Last month we celebrated my little girl’s 6th birthday.  She was born exactly one week after my 32nd birthday and I remember it like yesterday.  I still feel 32 until I realize I have a now 6 year old, ha!  This year our Chicago BFFs came to visit us in our new town and home to celebrate both my and my daughter’s birthdays and it was an incredible weekend.  I got to go for a pedicure and mimosa, shopping and lunch and then out to a MNO sushi dinner in the actual city of Charlotte (yes it’s official,  this Chicago city native is now a mom of the suburbs).  I don’t recall when I last laughed so hard and so much!  My little girl got to have a whole weekend of sleepovers and fun that included going to Sky High Sports (we LOVE that place) and yummy Chili’s.  Then she of course had a whole celebration at school which consisted of more cupcakes, more gifts, more singing and more love from her brother, teachers and school friends.  And we of course had to do a small family celebration on her actual birthday!  This was the year of the never-ending celebration and it was so great.  We are so lucky!

And now for the blurry fun iPhone snappies!

And what birthday post would be complete without a brief glimpse down memory lane…

We love you sweetest girl, so very much.

Lifestyle Family Photography | Huntersville, NC Child and Family Photographer

This post is quite long overdue but I think you’ll see why below.  I took SO many pics this Christmas and getting through them all was quite daunting.  As you will see I had a hard time narrowing it down!  I didn’t let my need to document the experience interrupt being present in the moment but I did find myself grabbing for the camera more often than in years past… perhaps because all of the kids are at that age where Christmas is truly magical.  We spent Christmas in Seabrook, SC as usual and had a great time with family.  I will let the pics tell the story…

My little girl finally got the vanity she’s been asking for from Santa!  She was so excited to wake up Christmas morning to head over to MiMi and PaPa’s and oh what a surprise!  Pure happiness…

Then it was time for Christmas mass (before opening the rest of the gifts :)).  All of the kiddos did great!
Mass was at the same church where my husband and I were married 7 1/2 years ago.  I just had to take a photo of our children under the same arches.  Beautiful wedding photo © Leigh Webber Photography.
Then back to MiMi and Papa’s to open the rest of the gifts.  Such fun!
Nearly-ruined-dinners to smoke alarms… oh the tension!  Lots of tears but thankfully tears of laughter!  I almost peed myself when my sister-in-law and brother-in-law knocked over the brussel sprouts that were sitting out (on a stool?) waiting to go in the oven.  The clean-up was the best!  And yes people still ate them (I did not :))
Both of the kids got cameras but it was my little girl that really got into taking pics.  At one point she said, “Look mama, I’m a ‘togerpher’ like you!”  She may have documented more than I did or close to it.  Looking at pics of her taking pics is like looking at my Mini-Me!  My little boy preferred taking videos with his camera.:)

Lastly the cousin boys in Mr. J’s NEW mini cooper.  They were so cute, I could have watched them for days and am regretting I didn’t take a video! Hey my son is onto something there!   Oh well, next time!

So. Much. FUN.  And believe it or not that was just the sneak peek!  If you care to see all the photos just click HERE.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I am wishing you and yours all of the best in this new year!
